“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children."
Romans 8:14-21

The Isaiah 61 Model
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion-to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore pllaces long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”
Healing the Soul
Isaiah 61 uses the word “shabar” meaning a shattered heart that needs to be put back together. This concerns the mind, will, and emotions. Our wounds need to be healed, our unmet needs need to be realigned, trauma needs to be resolved, we need to forgive, our pain and sadness need to be released. This is all concerning the state of our emotional realm or what the Bible describes as the “heart” This is the place you must heal and guard because everything else about you flows from the health in this area. Jesus puts us back together, nothing broken, nothing missing.
Deliverance from Demonic Torment
Isaiah 61 describes this as being released from captivity, or being held against your will. Acts 10:38 says of Jesus- “God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good and healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil”…. The word oppressed “katadunasteuo” is used in Scripture to describe the experience of being “harshly controlled or dominated.” The power of the blood of Jesus breaks the power of every demonic oppressor in your life. We do not have to live “harshly controlled or dominated” in our thoughts and actions. Jesus breaks the chains.

Wisdom in Exchange for Foolishness
Isaiah 61 describes light for those in the dark. In Hebrew Scripture, light often refers to wisdom while darkness to foolishness/the wisdom of men. Its not enough to know what’s wrong, we need to live in the truth and know the truth. Coming into the light means we obey His voice, exchange our understanding for His. This keeps us free.
Restoration
Isaiah 61 describes a total restoration of every area in your life that has been affected by sin and generational curses. It is a rebuilding of the soul that can affect generations to come. Jesus restores everything the enemy has stolen.
